Dragonfly Project Jewelry In 2000, Anne Marquardt Brooker, who
was ten years old at the time, lost a friend to a brain tumor. Reaching out to
his family, she sent them a story about dragonflies and their significance in
the cycle of life and death. Written by Walter Dudley Cavert, the story ends with
the comforting message:
The fact that we cannot see our loved ones or
communicate with them after the transformation,
which we call death, is no proof that they cease to exist.
This loving gesture so moved the grieving family that in 2001,
when Anne was eleven, she started The Dragonfly Project, a nonprofit corporation
that reaches out to people who are grieving. Those who have lost a loved one receive
a condolence card, a copy of the dragonfly story, and a dragonfly key chain. If
you'd like to find out more and read the full dragonfly story, go to www.dragonflyproject.org.
The jewelry offered here was designed for The Dragonfly Project which will
receive 25% of the proceeds of all dragonfly jewelry sales. Thank you for your
support of this effort.
